- 170g unsalted butter
- 200g granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 240g all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup whole milk
- 2 tsp freshly ground cardamom
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round or bundt pan. Lightly flour it to avoid sticking.
- In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until pale and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each. Mix in the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and freshly ground cardamom.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk. Mix until just combined.
- Pour the batter into your prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with glaze if desired before serving.
