  • 20 large pasta shells
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook pasta shells according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant. Add ground beef, cook until browned, and drain excess fat.
  4. In a bowl, combine cooked beef, ricotta cheese, half the mozzarella, Parmesan cheese, egg, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  5. Fill each pasta shell with the beef and ricotta mixture and arrange in a baking dish.
  6. Pour marinara sauce over the filled shells and sprinkle with the remaining mozzarella cheese.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 15 minutes, or until golden and bubbly.
  8. Let rest for 10-15 minutes before serving. Garnish with parsley if desired.
