Description
These Crescent Pizza Stockings are a festive and fun appetizer perfect for holiday gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated Pillsbury™ Original Crescent Dough Sheet
- 1/4 cup pizza sauce
- 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (1 oz)
- 2 tablespoons torn basil leaves
Instructions
- Heat oven to 350°F. Unroll the crescent dough sheet onto a clean work surface and press it into a flat 13×8-inch rectangle to smooth out the seams. Using a 2 1/2- to 3-inch stocking-shaped cookie cutter, cut out 12 stocking shapes from the dough. Carefully transfer the cutouts onto an ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake the dough stockings in the preheated oven for 8 minutes. This step partially cooks the dough to ensure a crisp and golden base before adding toppings.
- Remove the partially baked stockings from the oven. Spoon pizza sauce onto each stocking, leaving a 1/4-inch border around the edges. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on the top portion of each stocking. Return the tray to the oven and bake for 4 to 6 minutes more, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Transfer the finished pizza stockings to a serving tray. Sprinkle torn fresh basil leaves over the top for a fresh, aromatic finish. Serve warm as a festive appetizer or snack.
Notes
- For a spicy kick, add pepperoni or jalapeños on top.
- Experiment with different cheeses for varied flavors.
- These can be made ahead and baked just before serving.
