- 1/4 cup brown sugar (optional)
- 4 cinnamon sticks
- 2 whole star anise
- 2 whole cloves
- 1 orange (sliced)
Instructions
- Gather all ingredients—apple cider, brown sugar, cinnamon sticks, star anise, cloves, and sliced orange.
- Place all ingredients into a 3-quart slow cooker (Crock Pot) and stir gently.
- Set the slow cooker to the low setting and warm for 2 hours.
- Remove all whole spices and discard them.
- Ladle the mulled cider into mugs and optionally garnish with a fresh orange slice.
- For stove method, place all ingredients in a stock pot over medium heat, warm for about 30 minutes, remove spices, and serve warm.
