Description
This Crockpot Spiral Ham recipe offers a simple and delicious way to prepare a juicy, flavorful ham with minimal effort. Perfect for holiday gatherings or family dinners, the slow cooker handles all the work.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 (8-10 lb) spiral-cut ham, fully cooked
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/2 cup pineapple juice
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Unwrap the spiral ham and place it flat side down in the crockpot.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together brown sugar, honey, pineapple juice, Dijon mustard, ground cloves, maple syrup, and black pepper until well combined.
- Pour the glaze mixture evenly over the ham, ensuring some gets between the slices.
- Cover and cook on low for 4 hours, basting the ham with the juices every hour if possible.
- Once heated through and caramelized, carefully transfer the ham to a serving platter. Spoon some of the glaze over the top before serving.
Notes
- For caramelized and sticky edges, remove the lid for the last 30 minutes of cooking on high.
- Leftover glaze can be used for sandwiches.
- If your ham is too large for the crockpot, you can trim a slice or two off the bottom.
- Using apple or orange juice instead of pineapple juice is an acceptable substitute.
- Cloves are optional and can be omitted if desired.
- This recipe can also be made in a Dutch oven at 250F (120C) covered with foil.
