Description
This is the easiest Crockpot BBQ Pulled Chicken recipe. It’s quick, delicious, and perfect for busy weeknights or feeding a crowd. Your slow cooker does all the work, resulting in tender, saucy pulled chicken.

- 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
- 1 1/2 cups barbecue sauce
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
Instructions
- Place chicken breasts or thighs in the bottom of your slow cooker.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together barbecue sauce, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using).
- Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken in the slow cooker.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 6-8 hours or on HIGH for 3-4 hours, until chicken is tender.
- Remove chicken from the slow cooker and shred using two forks.
- Return shredded chicken to the slow cooker and toss with the sauce.
- Serve hot on buns for sandwiches, over rice, or as is.
Notes
- For a thicker sauce, remove the lid during the last 30 minutes of cooking on HIGH.
- The sauce mixture can be prepped the night before and stored in the refrigerator.
- Chicken thighs are recommended for extra moisture and flavor, but breasts work well too.
