Description

These are easy to make dinner rolls! They are super soft and fluffy, topped with honey butter.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup Milk (warmed to 110℉)
  • 2 1/4 tsp Active dry yeast (7 grams)
  • 1 tsp White granulated sugar
  • 1 Large egg (room temperature)
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 1/2 TBSP White granulated sugar
  • 5 TBSP Unsalted butter (room temperature and cubed)
  • 3 cups All-purpose flour (plus 1/3rd cup (42 grams))
  • 2 TBSP Unsalted butter
  • 1 TBSP Honey

Instructions

  1. In a microwave bowl, heat the milk in the microwave for 50 seconds until it is 110℉. Sprinkle yeast and sugar on top of milk and let sit for 10 minutes until foamy.
  2. In a large bowl, add the flour, sugar, and salt. Add the lightly beaten egg, sugar, and butter. Mix on low speed with a stand mixer until a dough starts to form, then knead on medium for 5 minutes.
  3. If the dough is sticky, add an additional 1/3rd cup of flour until tacky but not overly sticky. Perform the window pane test.
  4. Preheat the oven to 200℉. Spray a large bowl with nonstick spray, place the dough in it, cover with a kitchen towel, turn off the oven, and crack open the door. Let rise for 1 hour.
  5. Knock out some air from the risen dough. Weigh the dough and divide by 15 to form even rolls. Shape each roll and pinch the seams on the bottom.
  6. Spray a 9X13-inch pan with baking nonstick spray and place the rolls evenly in the pan. Cover with a kitchen towel and let rise for 1 hour.
  7. Preheat the oven to 350℉ and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Brush with melted butter and honey before serving warm.

Notes

  • For hand mixing, follow similar steps without a stand mixer.
  • Ensure proper temperature for yeast activation.
  • Use a pastry brush for even honey butter application.
