Description

This Simple French Onion Beef Casserole is the ultimate cozy dinner made with caramelized onions, savory ground beef, egg noodles, and gooey cheese.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 3 large yellow onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 4 ounces cream cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 8 ounces egg noodles, cooked
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium-low heat. Add sliced onions and cook for 20 to 30 minutes until caramelized.
  2. Push onions to the side and add ground beef and garlic. Cook until browned. Drain excess grease.
  3. Stir in Worcestershire sauce and beef broth. Add cream cheese and stir until smooth. Simmer briefly to thicken.
  4. Preheat oven to 350°F. In a greased baking dish, mix cooked egg noodles with beef and onion mixture. Top with shredded mozzarella.
  5. Bake uncovered for 20 minutes until bubbly. Broil for 2–3 minutes for a golden top.
