Description
Halloumi Wraps with Sticky Honey Chili Sauce are a quick and flavorful meal perfect for a light lunch or dinner.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 tbsp Honey
- 2 tbsp Sweet chilli sauce
- 2 tbsp Ketchup
- 1 tsp Sunflower oil
- 400 g Halloumi (two 200 g blocks)
- 2 Little gem lettuces, finely shredded
- 1/2 Red onion, thinly sliced
- 250 g Cherry tomatoes, halved
- 1/2 Cucumber, thinly sliced
- 120 g Hummus
- 1 Lime
- 8 Small tortilla wraps
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix together honey, sweet chilli sauce, and ketchup until fully combined to create the sticky sauce.
- Cut each of the two blocks of halloumi into 8 even slices to ensure they cook evenly.
- Heat 1 tsp of sunflower oil in a pan over high heat. Once hot, add the halloumi slices and fry them for 3-5 minutes on each side without moving them too much, allowing a golden brown crust to form.
- Pour the sticky sauce into the pan with the fried halloumi slices. Turn the halloumi gently to coat each piece thoroughly with the sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce is warmed through and sticky.
- Warm the tortilla wraps according to preference: use a microwave, wrap in foil and heat in a low oven, or carefully toast them over an open gas flame to add some color and texture.
- Spread a layer of hummus evenly on each warmed wrap. Top with finely shredded lettuce, halved cherry tomatoes, thinly sliced red onion, and cucumber slices. Add the sticky halloumi pieces on top.
- Squeeze fresh lime juice over the wraps to add a bright, tangy finish before rolling and serving.
Notes
- These wraps can be served warm or at room temperature.
- Feel free to customize the veggies based on your preference.
- Leftover sticky sauce can be stored in the fridge for later use.
