Description

Homemade Kilted Sausage Bites are bite-sized pieces of smoked sausage wrapped in crispy bacon and coated with a sweet and savory glaze.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb smoked sausage or kielbasa (cut into bite-size pieces)
  • 1 lb bacon (cut into thirds)
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • Toothpicks

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with foil and place a wire rack on top, or lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. Wrap each sausage piece with a strip of bacon and secure with a toothpick.
  3. In a bowl, mix brown sugar, black pepper, and garlic powder. Roll each wrapped sausage bite in the mixture until evenly coated.
  4. Place the bites seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet or dish, spacing them slightly apart.
  5. Bake for 30–35 minutes, turning once halfway through, until the bacon is crisp and the sugar is caramelized.
  6. Let cool slightly before serving. The glaze will thicken as it sets.
