Description
Homemade Kilted Sausage Bites are bite-sized pieces of smoked sausage wrapped in crispy bacon and coated with a sweet and savory glaze.

- 1 lb smoked sausage or kielbasa (cut into bite-size pieces)
- 1 lb bacon (cut into thirds)
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder (optional)
- Toothpicks
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with foil and place a wire rack on top, or lightly grease a baking dish.
- Wrap each sausage piece with a strip of bacon and secure with a toothpick.
- In a bowl, mix brown sugar, black pepper, and garlic powder. Roll each wrapped sausage bite in the mixture until evenly coated.
- Place the bites seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet or dish, spacing them slightly apart.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes, turning once halfway through, until the bacon is crisp and the sugar is caramelized.
- Let cool slightly before serving. The glaze will thicken as it sets.
Notes
- These can be made ahead of time and reheated.
