Lemon Bars: The Amazing Ultimate Recipe for Everyone


Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (plus extra for dusting)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (for filling)
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour (for filling)
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice (about 2 to 3 lemons)
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×9 inch square baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine melted butter, 1 cup flour, and 1/2 cup sugar. Mix until crumbly, then press into the bottom of the prepared dish. Bake for 15 minutes.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, 1 cup sugar, 2 tablespoons flour, baking powder, lemon juice, and lemon zest until well blended.
  4. Once the crust is slightly golden, remove it from the oven. Pour the lemon filling over the hot crust.
  5. Return to the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes or until the filling is set and no longer jiggles.
  6. Remove from the oven and let cool at room temperature before refrigerating for at least 1 hour.
  7. Once completely cool, dust with powdered sugar. Slice into squares or bars to serve.
