Description

This One Pan Tangy Honey BBQ Chicken Penne recipe is a quick and easy dinner idea perfect for busy weeknights. It combines tender chicken, penne pasta, honey BBQ sauce, and cheddar cheese all in one skillet.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 8 oz penne pasta
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Cut chicken breast into bite-sized chunks.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sear the chicken until golden and fully cooked, then set aside.
  3. In the same pan, add more oil if needed, and sauté the diced onion and garlic until softened and fragrant.
  4. Stir in the penne pasta, chicken broth, honey, BBQ sauce, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil.
  5. Reduce heat to low, cover, and let it simmer for 12–15 minutes until pasta is tender and liquid is mostly absorbed.
  6. Add the cooked chicken back to the pan and stir well.
  7. Sprinkle cheddar cheese over the top, stir until melted and creamy.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.
