Shrimp and Mussels in a Creamy Garlic Sauce Delight: An Incredible Ultimate Recipe
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 pound mussels, cleaned and debearded
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ½ cup chicken or seafood broth
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Salt and pepper to taste
- ¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Crusty bread, for serving (optional)
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat.
- Add minced garlic to the pan and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- Toss in the shrimp and season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Cook for 3-4 minutes until they turn pink. Remove the shrimp from the pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, add the cleaned mussels and pour in the chicken or seafood broth. Cover the pan and let the mussels steam for about 5 minutes until they open up.
- Once the mussels are cooked, add the remaining butter and heavy cream to the pan. Stir to combine and allow simmering for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet. Stir gently to coat them in the creamy sauce while cooking for an additional minute.
- Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the dish and mix well before removing it from the heat.
- Sprinkle fresh parsley over the dish for a pop of color and flavor.
- Ladle the shrimp and mussels into bowls, ensuring to scoop extra sauce over the top.
