Description

Shrimp and Mussels in a Creamy Garlic Sauce Delight: An Incredible Ultimate Recipe

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 pound mussels, cleaned and debearded
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup chicken or seafood broth
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • ¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Crusty bread, for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat.
  2. Add minced garlic to the pan and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  3. Toss in the shrimp and season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Cook for 3-4 minutes until they turn pink. Remove the shrimp from the pan and set aside.
  4. In the same pan, add the cleaned mussels and pour in the chicken or seafood broth. Cover the pan and let the mussels steam for about 5 minutes until they open up.
  5. Once the mussels are cooked, add the remaining butter and heavy cream to the pan. Stir to combine and allow simmering for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  6. Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet. Stir gently to coat them in the creamy sauce while cooking for an additional minute.
  7. Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the dish and mix well before removing it from the heat.
  8. Sprinkle fresh parsley over the dish for a pop of color and flavor.
  9. Ladle the shrimp and mussels into bowls, ensuring to scoop extra sauce over the top.
