- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 large egg yolk
- 1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- pinch salt
Instructions
- In a small bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth and creamy.
- Stir in the vanilla extract and egg yolk until fully combined and glossy.
- Add flour, baking powder, and salt to the bowl. Mix until a soft dough forms.
- Roll dough into 6–8 small balls and place on a lined baking sheet.
- Slightly flatten each dough ball. For cut-out cookies, roll and shape as desired.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 8–10 minutes until edges are just golden.
- Let cookies cool on the tray before transferring to a rack.
