- 2 slices of whole grain or sourdough bread
- 6 ounces of sliced turkey breast (deli or roasted)
- 2 tablespoons of pesto (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 slice of mozzarella cheese (optional)
- 1 cup of fresh spinach or arugula
- 1 medium tomato, sliced
- Olive oil or butter, for grilling or toasting
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Gather all your ingredients on the countertop for easy access.
- On one side of each slice of bread, spread a generous amount of pesto. Ensure it covers the entire slice for maximum flavor.
- Place the sliced turkey on one of the pesto-spread slices. You can adjust the amount based on your taste.
- If using, add the slice of mozzarella cheese on top of the turkey for a creamier texture.
- Top the turkey (and cheese) with fresh spinach or arugula for added crunch and nutrients.
- Layer the sliced tomatoes on top of the greens, then season with salt and pepper to enhance the flavors.
