- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped almonds or pecans
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
- Stir in sugar and salt. Keep stirring until mixture blends and starts to bubble.
- Cook and stir for 10 to 12 minutes until deep golden brown.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
- Pour mixture onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and spread evenly.
- Sprinkle chocolate chips on top, wait a minute, then spread melted chocolate.
- Add chopped nuts and lightly press them into the chocolate.
- Let cool completely, then break into pieces and store.
