- 1 can cream of mushroom soup (10.5 oz)
- 1 packet onion soup mix
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 medium yellow onion, sliced
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
Instructions
- Slice the onion into thin rounds and set aside. Season cube steaks with garlic powder and black pepper.
- Layer the sliced onions at the bottom of the crock pot. Place the cube steaks over the onions.
- In a bowl, mix cream of mushroom soup, onion soup mix, and beef broth until smooth. Pour over steaks.
- Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours, until the steak is fork-tender.
- Optional: Mix 1 tablespoon cornstarch with 2 tablespoons water and stir into the crock pot during the last 30 minutes to thicken the gravy.
