- 1 cup warm milk
- 2 1⁄4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3 1⁄2 to 4 cups all-purpose flour
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, stir together the warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
- Add melted butter, egg, and salt to the bowl. Mix well.
- Gradually stir in the flour, one cup at a time, until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough by hand or in a stand mixer for 5–7 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm area for 30–45 minutes or until doubled.
- Punch down the dough and divide it into 8–10 equal portions. Shape each into a ball.
- Place shaped rolls in a greased baking dish or on a parchment-lined tray. Let them rise for 20 more minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Brush rolls with melted butter.
- Bake for 18–22 minutes or until golden brown.
- Remove from oven and cool slightly before serving.
