- 3 cups mashed sweet potatoes
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup brown sugar (for topping)
- 3 tablespoons butter (softened, for topping)
- 1 cup chopped pecans
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Peel, cube, and boil or roast sweet potatoes until tender.
- Mash sweet potatoes in a bowl. Add brown sugar, melted butter, milk, eggs, vanilla extract, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Mix until smooth.
- Pour sweet potato mixture into prepared baking dish and smooth the top.
- In a separate bowl, mix flour, brown sugar, softened butter, and pecans to form a crumbly topping.
- Sprinkle topping evenly over the sweet potato mixture.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until topping is golden and casserole is heated through.
- Serve warm.
