- 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 cup long grain white rice
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 2 stalks celery, chopped
- 1 bell pepper, chopped
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 green onions, chopped
Instructions
- Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion, bell pepper, and celery. Sauté until softened.
- Stir in garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Add Cajun seasoning, paprika, thyme, salt, and pepper. Mix in rice and let it toast for 2 minutes.
- Pour in chicken broth and Worcestershire sauce. Stir well, bring to a simmer, cover, and cook for 15 minutes or until rice is tender.
- Uncover, place shrimp on top of rice, cover again and cook for 4–5 minutes until shrimp are pink and cooked through.
- Fluff rice, mix in shrimp, and garnish with chopped green onions. Serve hot.
