Description
This Slow Cooker Queso Chicken Dip is a creamy, cheesy appetizer bursting with flavors from shredded chicken, cheddar cheese, jalapenos, and spicy taco seasoning.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 (8 oz) blocks cheddar cheese, diced into large chunks
- 1/2 block cream cheese (about 4 oz) or substitute sour cream
- 2 cups shredded cooked chicken (from about 2 medium chicken breasts)
- 1 cup diced tomatoes (fresh or canned)
- 1 cup black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1/2 cup olives, sliced (optional)
- 1 jalapeno, minced
- 2 tablespoons taco seasoning
Instructions
- Dice the cheddar cheese blocks into large chunks to ensure they melt evenly. Mince the jalapeno finely for spice distribution.
- Add the diced cheddar cheese, shredded cooked chicken, cream cheese, diced tomatoes, black beans, olives (if using), minced jalapeno, and taco seasoning into the slow cooker. Stir briefly to incorporate the ingredients together.
- Set the slow cooker on High and cook for 1 to 1.5 hours. Stir occasionally during cooking to make sure the cheese melts evenly and the dip becomes bubbly and thoroughly warmed.
- Once the cheese is completely melted, bubbly and the dip is hot throughout, turn off the slow cooker. Serve immediately with tortilla chips, crackers, or fresh veggies.
